I almost forgot!!!

A few weeks ago we had our annual Sorensen family Christmas party. It was fun to see and visit with everyone. Then afterward Jason and I got to hang out with my sis and Lance and my Fav cousin Mike and his wife Ally. We took the boys out for a pedicure and got Italian Ice Cream.

We are expecting!!!

Merry Christmas to one and all. Jason and I are going to have a baby. I am due July 13. Hope you have all had a great holiday.

Ice Fishing

Jason has been dieing to go ice fishing since it first turned cold. He found a lake up in the Uintahs that is frozen over and away we went for a fun day of fishing. The lake has Tiger Trout and Bino Trout in it. It was a lot of fun to catch a different kind of fish. It was nice and sunny outside which makes things a little bit better for me because I stay a whole lot warmer.

Happy Thanksgiving

Jason and I spent this Thanksgiving with his mom's side of the family. We had a very nice dinner at his aunts house with a lot of his extended family. While there Jason and some of the boys went outside to play croquet and low and behold Jason revealed a hidden talent I had no idea existed.

Concert Junkie

I am married to a concert junkie and I LOVE IT!!! Jason and a have recently been to three concerts. First we went to Metalica with his brothers at the delta center, then we went to Thrice out at the Saltair and last we flew to Denver with Jason's high school buddies to see AC/DC. Yes I know that two of the three bands are "a bunch of old men," as my mother kept saying, but let me tell ya the old guys know how to put on a good show. Metalica was my favorite but they were all great concerts. I look forward to attending many more. Thanks for being a concert junkie Jas.

California Fun

For my birthday Jason Bought me tickets to go to Sacramento, CA to visit one of my good friends from college. I flew out the same weekend as the hunt. I landed in Cali on Thursday the 16 and went to Leah's house. Her husband was busy running errands and attending to meetings thus Leah and I were given some girl time. First things first I had her cut my hair. (She cut my hair almost the whole time I lived in Cedar). Then we bought lots of candy and rented Highschool Musical 1 and 2. Mike was less than pleased when he got home and realized what we would be watching. He sucked it up and watched both movies with us. On Friday Mike had to work and Leah and I spent the day in Old Sac. We ventured through the train museum where they let us walk through some of the trains. It was pretty sweet. I brought Jason back a train wistle that sounds like a real train. We did some shopping and layed on the grass by the river. That night we went out to eat at Joe's Crab Shack which is right on the river. Saturday morning we drove to San Francisco. We wandered through China Town, visited the fisherman's Warf (where I had the pleasure of seeing the backside of two naked men, ventured through Pier 39 and saw numerous Sea Lions basking in the sun, walked part way across the Golden Gate Bridge, and visited the houses that are shown and the beginning of, "Full House." Sunday we went to church, and drove down along the river. Then I flew home. Over all it was a great trip. Thanks hunny for the tickets.

Mike's wedding

So my cousin Mike got married on 10.09.08 to a cute girl named Ali. They had a beautiful ceremony. The only picture I snagged was of Danny and my hot husband.

I have great cousins!

Last night Jason and I were invited to Dan and Emi's house for some homemade pot stickers. They were delicous! Then we had a jam session with rock band 2. It is way better then 1. Thanks Dan and Emi for a great night.

I Love Birthday's

The first weekend in October Jason and I went to Richfield for a birthday dinner with my family for my birthday and also to celebrate his mom's birthday. Both events were a lot of fun. At my birthday dinner we were taking some pictures and Jason decided to smear some of my birthday cake on my face. Then we were talking about playing rock band. Jason had been to his parents house that day and playing it with his brothers. My mom said how she wanted to play it and the next thing I know Jason has his brothers on their way over with rock band. We ended up playing it for at least four hours. My mom loved it!!!

Saturday Shopping

This Saturday Jason and I went on a shopping day. First we bought a new couch which we were in dire need of. Ours was awefully uncomfortable. Then we went to Cabela's and got a new tackle box and some more lures. We love Fishing. Then we went to visit Jason's sister Heidi at her work. She works for Low Book Sales. Jason has been wanting to buy a new truck for a while so we took a stroll through the lot. We found a great '05 Ford four door powerstroke with a camper shell. Jason was in love at first sight. The bed even has a carpet kit in it. Well a few hours later we were driving home in our new truck. What a great day.

Happy 28!

I am now 28 years young. On the 26 of September I turned 28. It was a fun day. One of the other first grade teachers at the school shares my same birthday and it was also Johnny Appleseeds birthday so we celebrated all day long at school. Some of my students brought me gifts. They are so much fun I love it. A few of my co-workers and I went out for lunch (the one sitting next to me has the same birthday). Then later that night Jason, Danny and Emi and my friends Mere and Rachel from college, and I went out to dinner at the cheesecake factory. We had to wait for an hour to get seated. Thanks for waiting it out with me guys. The cheesecake and company was so worth it.

Always Kiss Me Goodnight

While Jason and I were home a couple of weekends ago my mother-in-law asked me to help her hang a cute saying in her room. It was some of those rub on words. It is really cute but well I am not very good at that kind of thing. So I called Mandy and she was sweet enough to come over and help me. I have been blessed with a great sister. Thanks for your help. Diane (my mother-in-law) loved it.

Laser Tag

On our way home from Labor Day weekend we stopped in Provo for a mad game of Laser Tag with some of Jason's friends from high school. We went to this great little place they used to go to when they were younger. Jason's sister joined us and we had a lot of fun. Afterwards we went out to eat.

Labor Day Weekend

Happy Birthday Sis!! This year for Labor Day my family went to Fishlake for a weekend of fishing. My dad rented a pontoon boat for the day and don't be shocked but yes my mom actually drove it. Good job mom. You did awesome. Fishlake is one of my families favorite places to go. We usually go up on free fishing day (usually the first Saturday in June). This year on free fishing day we were sitting around the camp fire and Mandy was saying something about how much weight she had gained from being pregnant and all of the sudden Jason gets up and goes and stands next to her and says lets compare. I was shocked to see how far Jason could stick out his stomach. He had all of us laughing. It was such a great gesture on his part. I love ya dear!

Mrs. Monroe's 1st grade

I am working at a year round school and have the luck of being the roving teacher. This means that every three weeks I move into a new classroom. My mom and Mandy came up and helped me set up my first room and then we had a girls night going to dinner and the movie Mamma Mia. It was so much fun and I wouldn't have been able to get my room ready without them. Thanks!!!

Happy Fourth

Every year on the fourth of July for a while now Jason and his friends have been going to this sweet spot to watch the fireworks. It is pretty amazing. Because the cops block off the road we have to go up the hill a couple of hours before the fireworks. There is a great view of the valley before the fireworks and during. I have been going with Jason to this great spot the last two years and each year we have had a front row seat of the action going on down in town. Last year we watched the cops mad rush to a fire in town and this year we watched as the cops mad rushed to McDonalds. Apparently a woman had pulled a knife on someone. Quite exciting!

Antelope Island

After moving to Bountiful Jason and I got out to see some of the sights. We have been fishing at Strawberry and Deer Creek, visited the Gateway, the Hogle Zoo, but by far the coolest place was Antelope Island. It was pretty sweet. You drive out to the Island on a long strip of highway. once out to the Island you are free to drive around and look at the wild life living on the island. It was crazy to see the animals up close and personal. There were so many Buffalo. They are huge! While at the visitors center we got to see some pretty old cars on a day trip and I even took a few minutes to practice my roping skills.

Moving

In April Jason and I took a leap of faith and moved to the big city of Bountiful. It is such a beautiful place and has a small town feel with all of the city perks (SHOPPING). Jason was offered a job with an Electical Consulting company called ECI. He seems to be liking it. I am teaching first grade at Woods Cross Elementary. I love it. My students are so cute. My class is buddy reading with one of the third grade classes. The first day they were going to be reading with my class a couple of the third graders were visiting with our reading specialist and told her they were coming to read with the first grade. They were so excited. The reading specialist asked them who's class they would be reading with. One of the students said, "I don't remember her name but you know the new one that is still in high school." Hahahaha like ten years ago. Another day my class was having sharing time and all of the sudden I hear one of them singing "I like big butts and I can not lie." I was in shock. This is a song Mandy and I have always loved, but I never expected to hear it from a six year old. It was great.
